Hamilton sets the pace at Chinese Grand Prix

17 April 2009 No Comment

Reigning World Drivers Champion Lewis Hamilton has set the early pace at the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai. Hamilton sent his McLaren MP4-24 around the Shanghai International Circuit in 1m 37.334s. This was 0.116s clear of championship leader Jenson Button who posted a 1m 37.450s lap time.

The McLaren MP4-24 was equipped with an interim diffuser after the FIA Court of Appeal rulings midweek. It will be interesting to see how the F1 betting markets are framed now that other cars have clearly improved.

That 20/1 offered on a Lewis Hamilton win in F1 betting odds by online bookmakers may be a little over the odds now. Hamilton was 16/1 to win the first practice session and 20/1 to start on pole with online sportsbook 888.com
